I am a very passionate gardener and in the limited space that I have I try to grow all those delicacies that you cannot always find even at the finest stores.
A couple of years ago I came across Courgette Flowers and got totally addicted! Unfortunately they are quite difficult to find and even then most of the time they come from places such as Holland or France. Which is not too far away, but still enough to take that freshness and gorgeous nectar smell away. But I was also concerned about their ways of farming as I am so pro organic! So I decided to grow them myself.
I have been very successful and my family and friends love those special courgette flower starters. My daughter would even have a bowl full of just courgette flowers for dinner!
Let’s make it clear- I am not a commercial gardener.
This year we have been blessed with a perfect weather for courgettes and we had quite few going to waste each day. As a very proud gardener it breaks my heart to see my crops going to waste, so I decided to sell my surplus.
I am not registered for organic farming, but can assure you that these courgette flowers have been grown organically.
Organic food and care for the environment are my main concerns when making decisions about what and where I eat.
